Notice is hereby given the City of Fifty Lakes Planning Commission/ Board of adjustment will convene on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 @ 6pm. at City Hall located at 40447 Town Hall Road, to conducti the following public hearings:
Interim Use Permit Applications IU-01-24 to operate a temporary/portable asphalt plant for four weeks from mid-September to mid-October in an existing pit. The subject property is located south of County Road 1 & East of County Road 66(no physical address) and is described as S 1/2 OF NE 1/4 OF SW 1/4 of Sec 29 Twp 138Rge 27. PIN 22290510. The property owners are Brian & Colleen Dobie and The applicant is Anderson Brothers construction.
After-the-Fact Conditional Use Permit Application CU-01-24 for a multi-tiered retaining wall in the shore impact zone on the property located at 14496 Grouse Ln. PIN 22280649. The applicants/property owners are Thomas & Pamela Stovern.
All interested persons are invited to attend these hearings and be heard or send written comments to City Hall at PO Box 125, Fifty Lakes, MN 56448 or via email at pz@fiftylakesmn.com. A staff report is made available at city hall typically one week before the scheduled meeting.

Please contact city staff before beginning any construction or improvement projects to determine if a permit is required.

Land use permits are required for most exterior projects including (but not limited to) the following:

  • All Forestry Management (logging) Operations
    New and replacement structures including houses, garages, sheds, decks, stairways, etc.
  • Fabric structures (hoop buildings/carports)
  • Additions or exterior modifications to existing structures
  • Most grading/dirt moving activities including all shoreline alterations (e.g. placement of rip-rap or sand placed above the ordinary high water level)
  • New impervious surfaces including driveways, patios, walkways, etc.
  • Temporary placement of recreational vehicles for more than twenty-one (21) consecutive days
  • Signs

Subsurface Sewage Treatment System (SSTS) permits are required for the following:

  • New or replacement systems
  • Upgrade of existing systems (e.g. new septic tank or expansion of a drainfield)
